NFL Power Rankings, Week 3: Cowboys, Ravens silence critics, Saints lose Brees

26. Denver Broncos (23)
The Vic Fangio era is off to a terrible start for the Denver Broncos. The newest head coach in the Mile-High City is 0-2 and they’ve scored a total of 30 points in two games. This week, they fell 16-14 to the Chicago Bears, a team that was really struggling to even move the ball on offense.
As for Denver, their offense seems to have no true identity. They have two good running backs in Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay — who had over 1,000-yards rushing as a rookie — yet they dropped back and threw it 50 times with Joe Flacco. This came after throwing it 31 times the week prior as they lost to the Oakland Raiders 24-16 on Monday Night Football.
General manager John Elway felt this season could be better as he brought in Fangio, thinking he could get the defense back to the dominant form we saw when they won Super Bowl 50. Instead, they’ve gone the first two weeks without a sack and simply lack the pass-rushing prowess we saw in years past.
Couple that with the problems they’re having on offense and this could be a long season for the Broncos, who entered the year with so much hope.
