Running Back

Raheem Mostert, 49ers (11 percent owned)

Tevin Coleman suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 1, which forced the 49ers and Kyle Shanahan to go with a committee approach at running back. And in all honesty, everyone in the trio of Raheem Mostert, Matt Breida and Jeff Wilson should at least be rostered after they all had big games, even if Wilson’s was solely bolstered by two touchdowns.

The most valuable add of that group, though, is Mostert, partially due to his ownership percentage and partially due to the fact that he’s incredibly productive and versatile. He had 13 carries for 83 yards and three catches for 68 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. He’s going to get touches in this committee and has both consistency and big-play ability working for him.

Jaylen Samuels, Steelers (25.5 percent owned)

Lost in the wake of Roethlisberger’s injury is the fact that Steelers running back James Conner was also injured on Sunday in Week 2. He suffered a knee injury that took him out of action for a bit. And while the running back has expressed that he believes he’ll be able to take the field in Week 3, do the Steelers have any reason to rush him back or, if he does play, overuse him with a backup quarterback at the helm?

Samuels is far from a special talent in my opinion but, if Conner isn’t playing or isn’t at 100 percent, he’s a valuable fantasy football add off the waiver wire. He’s a fine enough runner for a team that will look to move the ball there and has value as a pass-catcher out of the backfield in PPR leagues. He could be a low-key week-winner if Conner is sidelined or slowed.

Other available options: Jeff Wilson Jr., 49ers (0.1 percent owned); Jamaal Williams, Packers (10.0 percent owned)
