Baltimore Ravens – Joe Flacco

Honorable mentions: None

Usually, I can list at least one honorable mention for each of these NFL franchises. But in the case of the Baltimore Ravens, there’s only one quarterback even worth talking about.

And if you don’t know how poor the quarterback play has been for the first half of the franchise’s 24-year history, understand that Vinny Testaverde’s two-year run in his mid-30s was the second-best display of passing Ravens fans ever experienced.

But there’s no doubt that Joe Flacco is No. 1 for the team. In the 11 years with the franchise, he amassed 38,245 yards (31,000 more than No. 2 quarterback Kyle Boller), 212 passing touchdowns (161 more than No. 2 Testaverde), and has 96 of the team’s 200 total wins as a franchise.

There are another 10 wins that Flacco had in the playoffs, including that memorable run in 2012 where he went for 11 passing touchdowns and zero interceptions in all four wins. His play always went up in the postseason, including at times being the only team to beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Overall, Flacco was a solid-to-very-good quarterback for Baltimore in his run. But all runs come to an end, with 2018 first-round pick Lamar Jackson taking over, with Flacco ultimately getting traded to Denver this offseason.

But as a former 2008 first-round pick himself from Delaware of all places, it turned out to be one of the best selections the Ravens made in their short history as a franchise.
