18. Cousins finishes with four turnovers

After coming up just shy of a Super Bowl appearance during the 2017 season, the Minnesota Vikings signed Kirk Cousins last year with the hope he would be the missing piece to the puzzle to get over the hump.

Instead, the Vikings ended up being one of the biggest disappointments from 2018 after failing to even earn a Wild Card spot in the NFC, putting a ton of extra pressure on Cousins heading into his second year in Minnesota.

Since the ground game and defense came up big for the Vikings in Week 1 to help defeat the Atlanta Falcons, Cousins didn’t need to throw the football that much after only completing 8 of 10 passes for 98 yards with a touchdown.

As for what took place this past weekend, well the three turnovers by Cousins played a role in Minnesota coming up short against the Green Bay Packers on the road, bringing up the questions once again over whether he’s the right fit for the offense.

If the Vikings end up missing out on the playoffs for a second year in a row, that hefty contract signed by Cousins is going to look like a complete waste.

And with the defense of the Oakland Raiders showing signs of improvement over their first two weeks of action, Cousins could be in for another long afternoon come Sunday.
