The Dallas Cowboys are off to a great start but that doesn’t mean they can’t get better. Adding one of these three trade targets could push them over the top.

After knocking off two divisional rivals in the New York Giants and Washington Redskins, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves atop the NFC East with a 2-0 record. They should be able to improve that record to 3-0 with the tanking Miami Dolphins coming to AT&T Stadium this weekend.

From there, they may have a shot at going 4-0 through the first quarter of the season since their much-anticipated re-match with the New Orleans Saints will happen with Teddy Bridgewater — and possibly Taysom Hill — lining up under center due to Drew Brees undergoing surgery on his hand.

Even if that should happen, there’s no reason for them to stand pat with their roster — especially if there are areas where they can improve. And while new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has worked magic with the offense, and the combination of Rod Marinelli and Kris Richard have been great for the defense, there is still some room for them to get better on their roster.

They seem to understand this as they worked out several players on Tuesday, including safety Josh Jones. The former second-round pick of the Green Bay Packers never lived up to his draft status, but he did show flashes at North Carolina State. Having said that, he would be merely a body to replace Xavier Woods who injured his knee in the team’s win over Washington.

Instead of looking for free agents to fill out the roster, the Cowboys could try and push their team over the top by making a trade for someone who will bolster a position of need. Here, we look at three players who could be available and do just that.
