NFL Notebook, Week 2: Dolphins tear it down, quarterback injuries, awards and more
By Zach Cohen
The Miami Dolphins teardown reached new levels, injuries ravaged the quarterback position and much more in the NFL Notebook for Week 2.
Now that was a great weekend of NFL football. Half of the games were decided by one possession, which provided for some thrilling football. The Jaguars-Texans ending was particularly great, as was the Eagles-Falcons game. Also, it looks like the Bears finally found their kicker (probably not, but they deserve the optimism).
Alas, for all the good in football, there was some bad.
That missed call in the Saints-Rams game that negated a touchdown? Shameful. That Patriots-Dolphins blowout? Brutal. Ben Roethlisberger’s season-ending injury? Terrible. Drew Brees going out for six weeks with an injury as well? Yep, also bad.
Fortunately, Monday was busier than usual and only added to an action-packed Sunday. Don’t worry if you missed any of it, I’ve got you covered.
In the NFL Notebook for Week 2, we’re going to see the following.
- Why the Dolphins are actually pretty smart
- Why it’s time for a revolution in the NFL, and how it could affect you
- If starting Daniel Jones is the best thing for a depressed franchise
- How Melvin Gordon is, in nicer terms, screwed
- The next great NFL running back
- Weekly awards and so much more
There’s always a lot to dissect coming out of a hefty week of NFL action, so let’s get into it, starting with what’s going down in South Beach these days after another big trade sent a former first-round pick packing.
