NFL Week 3, 2019: 5 Teams on upset alert
By Dan Parzych
2. Chicago Bears
Whether they want to admit it or not, the Chicago Bears should consider themselves lucky for sitting at 1-1 since they could easily be winless heading into Week 3 after watching how close things got against the Denver Broncos.
After emerging as the surprise winner of the NFC North last season, expectations were rightfully high for the Bears once again entering 2019.
And while it was difficult to watch Chicago come up short at home opening weekend against their rivals in the Green Bay Packers, there shouldn’t be any reason for concern over Matt Nagy’s squad.
But if the Bears were to come up short for the second time in 2019 on Monday when taking on the Washington Redskins, well then the concerns would seem more likely to develop.
With all due respect to Chicago, this Monday night meeting in Washington seems like the perfect trap game after watching the Redskins come up shy in each of their first two games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.
Not only would a win over the Bears reward the Redskins with their first win, but it would also help Washington make a statement to the rest of the competition in the NFC.
