NFL Week 3, 2019: 5 Teams on upset alert
By Dan Parzych
1. Green Bay Packers
After two years spent watching the playoffs from home, the Green Bay Packers finally look like a serious contender again in the NFC, and while Aaron Rodgers rightfully deserves plenty of credit for the team’s success, so does the defense.
When Rodgers is healthy, the Packers’ offense is always going to be considered a top unit in the league, but the defense could end up being the major difference-maker if the first two games are any indication of what the rest of 2019 has in store.
Normally, Green Bay always seemed to be a lock for at least a Wild Card spot in the NFC, so to see them miss out on the previous two years shows how rough things got under Mike McCarthy.
Matt LaFleur still has plenty to prove over being the right answer at head coach for the Packers, and the pressure will be high once again with the Denver Broncos coming to town.
Despite the Broncos being 0-2, with their defense led by Von Miller, this is the last team Green Bay can afford to take a light approach with, or Sunday could result in the Packers suffering their first loss of the year while giving their rivals a break.
