Before the Atlanta Falcons take on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon in Week 3, here are three players that must shine in the game.

The third week of the 2019 NFL regular season is officially here for teams around the NFL, and the Atlanta Falcons are looking to continue to roll when they take on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis.

After a disappointing performance in the regular-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, the Falcons were able to bounce back in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles to climb back to the .500 mark at the early point in the season.

Atlanta hosted its first game of the year last week when Philadelphia came into the tough playing environment that is Mercedes Benz Stadium and came away with its first win of the year following the conclusion of the game with a 24-20 victory over the NFC opponent Eagles.

The Falcons were able to push out in front of the Eagles late in the game, thanks to a touchdown pass from veteran quarterback Matt Ryan to star wideout and recently extended receiver Julio Jones with a little over two minutes left in the contest to put them up for good and defend their home field.

Following the victory, Atlanta was able to jump back up to 1-1 on the season to sit tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1 overall) and New Orleans Saints (1-1) in a three-way tie for the top spot in the AFC South standings. The Falcons, Buccaneers and Saints hold a lead over the winless Carolina Panthers (0-2) in the division.

Atlanta will host an Indianapolis squad that is also coming off of a victory in Week 2, taking down the Tennessee Titans 19-17 in Tennessee.

In that game that pushed the Colts back to the .500 mark, much like the Falcons, Indianapolis tallied six points in the final quarter to go on the road and take down the Titans in an AFC matchup.

Entering Week 3, the Colts are 1-1 on the year and are tied with the Titans (1-1) and Houston Texans (1-1) atop the AFC South standings. The trio of teams at the lead in the division are sitting in front of the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars at 0-2 overall.

Both teams will be looking to build off of their bright spots they gathered in their Week 2 victories and improve on their 1-1 records this Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Before the Falcons hit the road to face the Colts during Week 3 of the regular season schedule, let’s take a look at three players that must shine for Atlanta in order to extend their winning streak to two games in a row.
