The Dallas Cowboys are out for a 3-0 start to the season as they host the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. Here are five bold predictions for that game.

It’s been a long time since a Dallas Cowboys team has looked this good to start out a season. They’re 2-0 after beating up on the New York Giants in Week 1 and the Washington Redskins in Week 2. Now, set to face the floundering Miami Dolphins in Week 3, they’re staring a possible 3-0 start in the face.

Of course, detractors will point to the winless record of the teams Dallas has faced, which is a fair point. However, this isn’t the norm we have seen from the Cowboys when facing these struggling teams.

For years, the Jason Garrett-led Cowboys have been criticized for playing to the level of their opponent, especially when playing a team that hasn’t been playing well. They’ve also struggled to get easy wins over division rivals such as the Redskins and Giants.

Look to 2018 for an example. Dallas won the division but beat the 5-11 Giants by just seven points in Week s and then needed a miraculous fourth-down touchdown pass and two-point conversion to win by one against them in Week 17.

As for the 7-9 Redskins, they went 1-1 with a three-point loss in Week 7 and an eight-point win in Week 12 even with starting quarterback Alex Smith out for Washington.

They can’t help who is on the schedule, but this season they’re at least winning easily — as they should against these teams. This Sunday gives them another chance to do just that against Miami and here, we look at five bold predictions for that game.
