Gardner Minshew guided the Jacksonville Jaguars to a dominant victory over the rival Titans on Thursday in Week 3. Studs and duds for the Jags in the win.

When the Tennessee Titans walked into TIAA Bank Field on Thursday Night Football in Week 3, they had won four straight games against the rival Jacksonville Jaguars. And from the onset on Thursday at the Jags’ home field, it was abundantly clear that Jacksonville had no intention of seeing that streak extended to five games.

The Jaguars hit a little bit of a hiccup out of the gate as they went three-and-out on the opening drive. However, a muffed punt gave them the ball in the red zone and the legend of Gardner Minshew took its next big step as he threw a touchdown pass to take the 7-0 lead. Minshew then pushed the lead to 14-0 on the Jaguars’ next drive with another scoring toss.

As much fanfare as Minshew deserves and will receive, though, the story of the night for the Jaguars was indeed their defense — as it was two years ago when they were on the cusp of the Super Bowl. The defensive front sacked Marcus Mariota on nine occasions, really limiting what the Titans were able to get going on offense and helping Jacksonville maintain their early lead.

When 60 minutes was up, the Jaguars ended up with a 20-7 victory over their division rivals, but also with their first win of the 2019 season. Though they are without Nick Foles and though Leonard Fournette might be playing poorly and though Jalen Ramsey might be traded, this team still might have what it takes to be competitive.

Jacksonville was highly impressive against Tennessee on Thursday night. Of course, they weren’t perfect by any means. So let’s take a look at the best and the worst from the Jags but highlighting the Jaguars’ studs and duds from the Week 3 win.
