Dud: Leonard

Anyone that didn’t watch the game on Thursday night might take a gander at the box score and assume that Leonard Fournette was fine. After all, he finished the game with 15 carries for 66 yards along with six receptions for 26 yards. However, the numbers are a lie in this situation. In fact, Fournette was one of the worst players on the field for the Jags on Thursday night.

Fournette busted off a 69-yard run in the waning minutes of the Week 3 game when the outcome was basically decided and the Titans were playing defeatedly. For those keeping score, that means that Fournette had -3 yards on the night prior to that long run.

We’ve seen the former first-round pick continue to disappoint in the run game. Part of that has been the Jags offensive line but another part of it has been the running back just under-performing. And this was another example of that.

Stud: Ramsey and Bouye

In what could well be Jalen Ramsey’s final game of his Jaguars tenure, the star cornerback looked the part. Not only was he strong in coverage against Corey Davis throughout the game in Week 3 but he also forced a fumble with a strong play after allowing a catch. The Jaguars are clearly going to miss Ramsey whenever he’s dealt and this game was a prime example of it.

Not to be lost in the shuffle, though, A.J. Bouye was also a star against Tennessee on Thursday, locking up rookie A.J. Brown. There’s a reason that the Titans’ leading receivers on the night, Adam Humphries and Tajae Sharpe, work primarily out of the slot — they didn’t have to work against Ramsey and Bouye. It’ll be fascinating to see how the secondary turns out if and when Ramsey does depart.
