2. Alvin Kamara

If there was one player the Saints needed to step up in Week 2, it was Alvin Kamara. With the departure of Mark Ingram, Kamara is the team’s lead back while Latavius Murray serves as his backup. After Brees went down, it seemed like the entire momentum of the offense did too.

Kamara finished the game with only 45 rushing yards on 13 attempts and a lone reception for 15 yards. Considering how productivity Kamara was in Week 1, the Saints and all of us certainly expected more. However, Week 3 gives Kamara a chance to redeem himself.

Kamara is going to be key in keeping pressure off of Teddy Bridgewater. While he had some security with Brees, the same can’t be said for Bridgewater. Keeping the pressure off Bridgewater is one thing but Kamara needs to try to get into the end zone, too.

He has yet to score a touchdown and that’s incredibly uncharacteristic. While the Seahawks held James Conner to 33 yards, they still left him score. Lastly, Kamara needs to try to squeeze out a few extra yards as he did against the Texans including breaking multiple tackles. Hopefully, Week 2 was just a fluke and we’ll see Kamara return to his normal stat-line.
