2020 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders strike gold with A.J. Epenesa, Giants nab Chase Young
Whenever contemplating any NFL Mock Draft and getting to the San Francisco 49ers, it’s been pretty easy to slot them with the best cornerback available for quite some time. However, with the way that Richard Sherman and Ahkello Witherspoon have played through two weeks, you have to wonder if that will remain their biggest need throughout the year. For now, though, they take the highly skilled Jeffrey Okudah out of Ohio State, a player that has the tools to be a lockdown player on the outside of a defense.
If the Jarran Reed injury has shown us anything about the Seattle Seahawks, it’s that they don’t have much to speak of in terms of depth on the interior of the defensive line. Lucky for them in this mock draft, they have the fortunate break of Raekwon Davis falling to them. He’s a top-20 prospect that just doesn’t fit immediate needs in that range. That benefits Seattle, though, as he can be an immediate starter up front for Pete Carroll’s team.
Outside of Davante Adams, there isn’t really a wide receiver that you could definitively say that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers trusts. That’s something the front office needs to make change and they do so with Laviska Shenault Jr. out of Colorado. A true marvel in terms of his versatility, Shenaul can win in a variety of way and is quite simply a big play waiting to happen when the ball’s in his hands.
The recent minor injury to Xavier Woods highlights why everyone has been saying the Dallas Cowboys need to address the safety position. With little depth beyond Woods, they need someone to come in and provide stability, which Alabama’s Xavier McKinney is more than capable of doing. A versatile player that can contribute in numerous way, McKinney is the perfect addition to an evolving Cowboys defense.
