2020 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders strike gold with A.J. Epenesa, Giants nab Chase Young
The Los Angeles Rams have long needed more of a future in regards to edge pass rushers. Aaron Donald is a beast on the interior but they need to upgrade from what they have on the edge. Julian Okwara from Notre Dame can answer the call. A terrific athlete on the edge that can win with speed and bend, he needs to get strong but has a clear path to success in the NFL.
In a pick that would make Ozzie Newsome happy, the Baltimore Ravens get a player out of Alabama, nabbing Trevon Diggs to play cornerback. Jimmy Smith has been great for Baltimore but the cornerback’s contract is up. Subsequently, they are getting a player that has every physical box checked and just needs to stay healthy and also grow as a technician.
The New England Patriots indeed need a replacement for Gronk and can find one in the form of Grant Calcaterra out of Oklahoma. The tight end is not the same type of player as his would-be predecessor but he’s an elite pass-catcher with a high football IQ and unreal hands. Split him out as a glorified slot receiver and he can do damage against almost any defense.
Full disclosure, Henderson’s 2019 season hasn’t gotten off to the hottest start. Particularly in the season-opener in Week 0 against Miami, the Florida Gators cornerback looked shaky and was beaten quite a few times. However, he has enough on tape to make you believe in the talent. And the Kansas City Chiefs need talent in their secondary, a group that is consistently necessitating Andy Reid‘s offense being one of the league’s most potent units.
Best Players Still Available
In a deep class, there are still plenty of high-profile players left on the board after this latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft. Let’s take a look at the best prospects still on the board:
