The Oakland Raiders travel to the Minnesota Vikings for Week 3 play as they look for a bounce-back game after a loss to Kansas City.

After a disappointing loss to who will ultimately be the AFC West champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Oakland Raiders finally get out on the road to face the underachieving Minnesota Vikings in Week 3.

The Vikings are coming off of a 21-16 loss to NFC North rivals, Green Bay Packers. Quarterback Kirk Cousins, a lightning rod for mediocre play, was again pedestrian. Cousins, who’s making no friends in Minnesota, went 14-of-32 for 230 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Conversely, the Raiders delivered an egg of their own in a game close in the first quarter, and a blowout for the remaining three. Quarterback Derek Carr, who was electric early, fizzled in his attempt to bring Oakland back. He finished the night going 23-of-38 for 198 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Give the Raiders credit for a promising first 15 minutes, but be equal in your criticism for three-quarters of terrible football. Kansas City asserted who the best in the AFC was after New England, while quarterback Patrick Mahomes reminded Raiders fans that the MVP award was going nowhere soon.

The Raiders are better. Much better in 2019. The problem is so is Mahomes and so is Kansas City. In Week 3, they get a Vikings team still trying to figure out if Cousins is the real deal or a free agent illusion.
