The Dallas Cowboys moved to 3-0 for the first time since 2008 with a convincing win over the Miami Dolphins. Here are the studs and duds from their victory.

So far in 2019, the Dallas Cowboys have been taking care of business. They have won easily in their first three games and are now 3-0 for the first time since the 2008 season. This time, it was thanks to a 31-6 win over the Miami Dolphins.

While it was once again a winless team they defeated, the fact is the Cowboys can’t control their schedule. What they can control is how they handle who they play against and through three weeks, they’ve made it look easy.

Not only have they scored at least 31 in all three wins, but they haven’t won by less than two scores as well. This hasn’t always been the case in the past as they’ve been guilty of playing to the level of their opponent.

That looked to be the case early in this win as they were up 10-6 in the first half, and honestly, they were outplayed by Miami. Dallas ended up turning it on in the second half though and took the win. Now, we look back over that game and select the studs and duds from their victory.

Notable Omissions

Dak Prescott struggled in the first half of the game for Dallas but turned it up a notch in the second. He finished the game with 246 yards passing with two touchdowns while adding a third with his legs. It was his first rushing touchdown of the season and he deserves credit for shaking off the slow start.

Prescott had plenty of help in this one, especially from Ezekiel Elliott. The two-time NFL rushing champ went for 125 yards on the ground and 14 more as a receiver. It could have been even more, but the big lead meant he got more rest than normal.

Lastly, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence finally got his first full sack of the season. He’s been close several times this year but had just a half-sack entering this one. In addition to his take-down of Josh Rosen, he also recovered the red zone fumble forced by Jaylon Smith.
