Following the New England Patriots’ win over the New York Jets in Week 3 of the regular season, here are three studs and duds for the Patriots from the victory.
The New England Patriots continued their strong start to the 2019 NFL season on Sunday afternoon in a Week 3 contest against the New York Jets. The Patriots cruised to their third straight win to kick off the regular-season schedule at home at Gillette Stadium against a fellow AFC East opponent in the Jets.
New England got things going early on in the game en route to coming away with the 30-14 win in Foxborough, tallying 20 points in the opening half to grab an advantage right out of the gate and take the game over before it really even began.
With the victory, the Patriots improved to a perfect 3-0 on the season to remain atop the AFC East standings going into the fourth week of the regular season. Through three games so far this year, New England has outscored its opponents 106-17 in those three victories.
The Patriots will have a bigger test in Week 4 of the schedule next Sunday when they travel to face another AFC East opponent in the Buffalo Bills at noon in Buffalo. That showdown will be a contest between the top two teams in the division standings and New England will aim to stretch its lead in the division with another win.
The loss for the Jets moves them to a winless record of 0-3 on the season and is their first loss on the road in the regular season thus far. New York, which has struggled mightily through three games to kick off the year, will remain at the bottom of the AFC East standings going into Week 4.
The Jets will have the next week off before returning to action against a tough opponent in the Philadelphia Eagles during Week 5 of the regular season on Oct. 6.
Following the Patriots’ second win at home this season and third straight victory to kick off the 2019 campaign in Week 3 on Sunday, let’s dive into three studs and duds for New England in its win.
