Chicago Bears vs. Washington Redskins: 5 Bold predictions for Week 3
1. Chicago wins emphatically on the road
Just about nothing that the Chicago Bears have done to this point in the season has been emphatic, with the exception of Mitchell Trubisky being emphatically bad. And saying that’s going to change on a dime in a road matchup may seem a bit wild. However, that’s exactly what I’m going to predict will happen in this Week 3 matchup.
As has been the case this season, the Bears defense is going to be the catalyst for any success that they have. Even if they don’t force turnovers, Washington is going to have a horrible time trying to move the ball consistently on Monday night. Keenum will spend time on the turf and the punter is set to get a lot of work on the night.
But where things are going to dramatically turn for the Bears is on offense. Trubisky isn’t going to make anyone think he’s suddenly Aaron Rodgers. However, Josh Norman and the Redskins secondary have been quite porous this season and Trubisky will have by far his best game of the young 2019 season. With David Montgomery also moving well, the offense will have their best showing yet.
When it’s all said and done, Monday Night Football in Week 3 will ultimately be a dominant win for the Bears. They simply have too much talent and match up too well with the Redskins to imagine any other outcome. And truthfully, anything other than a decisive (likely double-digit) victory for Chicago should be considered a disappointment.
