2020 NFL Draft: 7 Prospects with rising stock after college football Week 4
Four weeks into the college football season, it’s a perfect time to eye the 2020 NFL Draft and several prospects who have raised their draft stock thus far.
Time flies when you’re sitting down in front of your TV watching college football. Week four of the college football season is in the books which means one step closer to 2020 NFL Draft.
There are players with the names who’ll dominate the consensus top 20 rankings for the 2020 NFL Draft — those prospects who are holding on to the top spot since the beginning of the season. However, as the weeks go by, other players will prove their worth and climb up draft boards.
Great draft classes aren’t built just in the top 20 picks and prospects, though. Subsequently, neither will this list. We’re going to take a look at seven prospects that have done things to help raise their stock for the 2020 NFL Draft, starting with a game-breaking running back in Maryland.
7. Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland
Speed is always a great asset to have as a NFL prospect. When you look at Anthony McFarland’s tape, that’s his glaring strength. The 5-8, 208-pound back does his best work in the open field. He excels getting to the edge and making the big play.
Over the first quarter of the season, McFarland has five touchdowns while averaging nearly five yards per carry. He makes quick decisions at the line, plants and goes. Although he has great quickness and elusiveness he doesn’t look to shake defenders.
McFarland looks similar to Ray Rice in his play style. His best fit comes in a two-back system until he proves he can carry a full workload. He is an ideal fit for teams that run a zone blocking scheme. His game-breaking ability will be on display continuously and he could rise into the Day 2 conversation.
