NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Daniel Jones ignites Giants, Packers stay perfect

20. Cleveland Browns (17)
There’s not a lot of positives to take away from the Cleveland Browns 20-13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football — at least not on offense. Their defense did keep them in the game which was incredibly surprising considering they were without nearly their entire starting secondary.
Even shorthanded, defensive coordinator Steve Wilks had a great game plan that kept the Rams guessing. They had only three points in the first 30 minutes as the two teams went into the half with Cleveland ahead 6-3.
Then with a 13-10 lead in the fourth, the defense again stepped up as T.J. Carrie recorded an interception that could have allowed them to take control of the game. That didn’t happen as the offense turned the ball over on downs.
In the fourth quarter, the defense again stepped up as Juston Burris intercepted Jared Goff with just under three minutes to play. Down seven at that point, Cleveland moved it to the Rams four-yard line before falling flat and turning it over on a fourth-down pass.
That was about the only way this one could have ended as the Cleveland offense was hard to watch. Head coach Freddie Kitchens has struggled mightily with handling the head coaching duties and play calling. They were predictable for the most part but the times they weren’t included some bad play calls such as a draw play on fourth-and-two.
There’s a lot to fix in Cleveland if they want to contend this season because right now, they look like a team struggling to find their way.
