19. New York Giants (31)

There are a couple of things to pick apart for the New York Giants in their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One is the fact that Daniel Jones looked great in his first start which has to make Dave Gettelman and his bagel guy happy. He had 336 yards with two throwing touchdowns and two rushing — including the game-winner.

If he continues to play to this way for New York, he’s going to make Gettelman look smart after he took a lot of grief for taking Jones sixth overall. As good as that could be for the general manager, it makes you wonder what’s wrong with head coach Pat Shurmur.

For some reason, Shurmur hung on to Eli Manning as the starter despite him struggling mightily in recent seasons. Sure, he won a couple of Super Bowls but to act as if that means he should start as long as he wants is just foolish. Clearly, Shurmur should have pulled the plug earlier and maybe they’re not 0-2 heading into this one.

As good as the win had to feel, there are some concerns leaving this game as running back Saquon Barkley apparently has a high ankle sprain. He’s set for an MRI on Monday and if he misses time, that could really hinder their offense.
