30. Cincinnati Bengals (27)

It’s still early in his tenure, but the Zac Taylor era with the Cincinnati Bengals has gotten off to a horrendous start. Now 0-3, they’ve struggled to find any real consistency on offense, managing to hit 20 points just one time. On Sunday, they scored just 17 for the second time in a row and they were then unable to hold on after going up 17-14 over the Buffalo Bills late in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Andy Dalton finished with 249 yards through the air but it seemed as though his day would have been much worse. Dalton struggled to hit his receivers early on but they did find a bit of a stride after falling behind 14-0. They then scored 17 straight, all of which came on consecutive drives. That’s also somewhat alarming as it was really only those three possessions where they looked as though they were capable of doing anything.

Taylor’s hiring was a little surprising given his lack of experience as a head coach. He’s been around a while but had just one season as a coordinator — which was back in 2015 with the Miami Dolphins.

He was really hired simply because he was on Sean McVay’s staff last season and the Bengals were looking for the next McVay. It was all the rage to hire coaches who have been around McVay, but so far Taylor is looking like a reach. He can still turn it around, but he needs to do so quickly to avoid this being a wasted season.
