The Green Bay Packers put their perfect record on the line as they welcome the Eagles to Lambeau and these players need to step up for the Pack.

There are only seven 3-0 teams in the NFL to start the 2019 season and the Green Bay Packers, who spent the offseason trying to develop a new identity, are one of those teams (the Lions are also unbeaten but tied in Week 1 to sit at 2-0-1). With wins over the Bears, Vikings and Broncos, the Packers now enter Thursday Night Football in Week 4 looking to stay perfect as they welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to Lambeau Field.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst was aggressive this offseason in revamping the defense. He signed Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith and Adrian Amos in free agency before selecting Rashan Gary and Darnell Savage with a pair of first-round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. These moves have clearly paid off.

Green Bay has been one of the most impressive defenses in the NFL over the first two weeks of the 2019 regular season. While that’s certainly been a catalyst for their success, it’s actually been a bigger factor considering that Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense has not been as impressive under new head coach Matt LaFleur as some expected them to be.

The Packers have only managed 19.3 points per game through the start of the season. Rodgers has yet to truly air it out with great success to begin the year and the rushing duo of Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams is averaging under four yards per carry to start the year. But again, it hasn’t mattered with the defense helping to lead the way.

While the Eagles are 1-2 entering this Thursday Night Football matchup in Week 4, they are still a tough matchup for any team. As such, the Packers need to be at their best. Specifically, they need key players to step up and shine if they want to move to 4-0 on the year. These are those players that need to be at their best against Philadelphia.
