1. Trubisky shows that Week 3 wasn’t a fluke

Boy, Mitchell Trubisky needed a game like he had against Washington. Sure, it wasn’t all great, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. He gave a great effort and his performance boosted his confidence.

Nagy scaled the offense down a little so as not to put too much pressure on Trubisky. Also, he had the third-year quarterback get in a rhythm by going up-tempo. Nagy told everyone about how Trubisky has a better handle on the offense this season.

Well, in the first two games that wasn’t evident. On Monday night, though, going up-tempo and no-huddle, he looked like a quarterback in control. Yes, there were times when the coaches were in his ear calling plays, but he got the players in position and made better decisions.

Even on that horrible interception in the end zone, the decision to throw was a good one. Robinson was open for the touchdown but Trubisky just underthrew the ball.

With the boost in confidence, Trubisky should have another good game. I understand that the Vikings defense is better and more aggressive than Washington’s but Trubisky is out to prove that it wasn’t just a bad Washington defense or great Bears defense that was responsible for his performance — he had a part in it as well.

Being Chicago Bears fans, we’ve seen on more than just a few occasions how the offense squandered great opportunities provided by the defense. Trubisky was able to make plays that resulted in touchdowns and not field goals, and that allowed the Bears to pretty much cruise.

Trubisky looks to continue to put up touchdowns and silence the critics. As much as he says he isn’t listening to the noise, it’s gotten very loud and he’s sure to hear some of it.

Prediction: 26-37 for 276 yards, 2 touchdowns; 36 yards rushing
