Buffalo Bills

Weeks 1-3: at Jets (17-16), at Giants (28-14), vs. Bengals (21-17)

The Buffalo Bills seemingly qualify as one of the most unlikely 3-0 teams that you could imagine to begin the 2019 NFL season. In two of their games to start the year, things have been quite dicey for the Bills as they needed late-game pushes to pick up wins. Yet, winning tough games is the mark of a good team and, despite the doubters, Buffalo does appear to be just that.

It’s worth noting, of course, that the Bills haven’t faced a high level of competition to start their 2019 campaign. They squared off with the now 0-3 Jets in Week 1 and had to come back to win against them. And while they severely handled the 1-2 Giants that were still starting Eli Manning at the time, they then had to stave off a comeback from the winless Bengals in Week 3.

Josh Allen has been a bit inconsistent as a passer but he continues to be a weapon with his rushing ability. Furthermore, the offensive line in Buffalo has been quite strong to start the year and the Bills defense continues to be strong, particularly with cornerback Tre’Davious White looking like an All-Pro candidate.

While the Bills are likely a playoff-caliber team and not a group that can be overlooked, it does still appear that they aren’t among the elite teams in the NFL. And on Sunday in Week 4, they have to take on a team that does fall into that category in the New England Patriots. That’s when the Bills’ first loss will take place, even if they should rebound after that.
