Dallas Cowboys

Weeks 1-3: vs. Giants (35-17), at Redskins (31-21), vs. Dolphins (31-6)

While contract talks with Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott and a multitude of others dominated the offseason conversation surrounding the Dallas Cowboys, the biggest change may have come on the coaching staff. Kellen Moore was promoted to offensive coordinator and the hope was that he would bring the offense into the 21st century. So far, that has indeed been the case.

Even with Elliott having to play his way into game shape, the Cowboys offense has been unstoppable through the first three weeks. They’ve put up at least 31 points in each of their wins to start the year at 3-0. Having said that, facing the Giants, Redskins and Dolphins is not exactly putting Dallas up against a murderer’s row of opponents.

This isn’t to say that there aren’t reasons to be confident in the Cowboys at this point. However, they are not going to be as dominant as they have been when they face better competition. Luckily for them, they face against the Teddy Bridgewater-led New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football in Week 4, which is a fortunate break that should help Dallas stay perfect.

The next week, though, the Packers head to AT&T Stadium for a huge Week 5 showdown. And while the Cowboys will be able to hang with Green Bay, the new-look Packers defense looks like they’re for real. As such, they’ll go on the road and pick off America’s Team in a tightly contested affair.
