Defense/Special Teams

Chargers (at MIA), $3,800 – The Los Angeles Chargers defense has not scored more than eight fantasy points in a week through the first three weeks and have been without one of the unit’s best players all year. Of course, playing the Dolphins changes literally everything. You have to at least consider taking advantage of a matchup with Miami every time it’s on the table.

Patriots (at BUF), $3,700 – New England’s defense hasn’t faced a tough matchup, to be sure, but the Patriots D/ST has scored at least 10 points in each week, including a monstrous 37 in Week 2. While they won’t do that against the Bills, they could create some big turnovers against a sometimes-reckless Josh Allen and end up with another nice day.

Vikings (at CHI), $3,400 – This is purely a speculation pick. We know that the Vikings have one of the better defenses in the NFL, which makes them intriguing. However, the question is whether you believe that Mitchell Trubisky will take a step forward after a strong Week 3. My bet is that he doesn’t, which means an advantage for Minnesota’s defense.

Texans (vs. CAR), $3,100 – Yes, Kyle Allen burned me last week when he made his debut and threw for four touchdown. I’m also not convinced that wasn’t the best game he’ll play this year. Furthermore, he’s now on the road and will be met with pressure for J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus in this game. If you want to save a bit on defense, this is your best bet.
