Winner: Steve Wilks

Despite all of the ire that has come the Browns’ way, you couldn’t question the performance of their defense through the first three games and Steve Wilks’ defense delivered again on Sunday. Until garbage time when the Ravens broke off a big play, the Browns had held Baltimore to 200 fewer yards of total offense than they had all season, in addition to forcing three turnovers when the team had committed none through three games.

It was a stellar effort from Wilks’ unit that continues to look quite fierce on the 2019 season.

Winner: Jarvis Landry

It was unbelievably refreshing to see Jarvis Landry used in the way that he should be. The wide receiver has been targeted down the field quite a bit this season which just isn’t his game. That changed against Baltimore, though, and Landry went to work.

Landry finished the game with eight catches on 10 targets for 167 yards. He was consistently open on slants and in the intermediate parts of the field and made one chunk play after another. And with Beckham largely being shut down on Sunday, it was needed to really spark the Browns passing attack.

Loser: Run Defense

While you had to come away wholly impressed with how the Browns defense performed, it’s worth noting that the run defense was burned quite a bit by Baltimore. Jackson, Ingram and Gus Edwards combined for 29 carries for 173 yards on the day, meaning they averaged six yards per carry. It didn’t matter in Week 4 but Cleveland will need to tighten that up moving forward.
