The Dallas Cowboys finished the first quarter of the 2019 season with a 3-1 mark. Now, we look ahead and try to fill some holes with this 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft

After a 3-0 start, the Dallas Cowboys hit their first bump in the road as they lost to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football in Week 4. Still sitting at 3-1, the Cowboys have had a great start to the year, especially when you consider the slow start they had last season.

In 2018, the Cowboys started out 2-2 with losses to the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. As for their two wins, there was a seven-point win over the New York Giants and a two-point victory over the Detroit Lions.

Dallas then found themselves at 3-5 by the midway point before turning things around and finishing 7-1. They won the NFC East title with that record and are still atop the division at this point — although their lead isn’t as comfortable as they would have liked thanks to the loss to New Orleans.

Still looking to defend their title, the Cowboys now have a much better idea of what kind of team they’re going to be throughout this season. Their offense has been much better than a year ago — outside of what happened on Sunday Night Football — and their defense looks to again be a solid unit.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t holes on either side of the ball, because clearly there are. Here, we try and do some patchwork as we attempt to fill these holes with a 2020 7-round mock draft for the Cowboys after the first four weeks of the season are in the books.
