Penn State. K.J. Hamler. 5. 806. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR

Speed kills and that’s exactly what K.J. Hamler brings to the field. A redshirt sophomore for Penn State, Hamler is undersized at 5-foot-9 and 165-pounds, but he makes up for that with his quickness and footwork.

Dallas understands how a player with this kind of speed can open things up as they had a couple of splash plays out of Tavon Austin in 2018. This season, Austin has been quiet and that could lead to him being replaced here by a fifth-round pick.

In 17 career games, Hamker has 58 receptions for 1,107 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s averaging 19.1 yards per catch and 18.5 overall per touch when factoring in his five rushed for 60 yards and a score.

Scouting Report. Khalil Tate. 835. Pick Analysis. QB. Arizona. 7. player

Mike White was taken in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft but he didn’t catch on with the Cowboys. White struggled with accuracy and wasn’t able to adjust when teams brought pressure.

That led to him being let go ahead of this season as Dallas decided to go with just two quarterbacks on the active roster with Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush being their only signal-callers.

Here, they decide to look for another young passer to develop as a backup with the selection of Arizona’s Khalil Tate. A dual-threat who had 1,411 yards rushing as a sophomore, Tate has worked on his ability to move the ball with his passing over the past two years.

In 2018, he was able to throw for 2,530 yards and had a 26-to-8 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He’s shown enough for someone to take a chance on him, which is exactly what Dallas does with their final pick in this mock.
