It’s time to take a look at the latest NFL Power Rankings Week 5 for the 2019 season, with plenty to discuss as usual.

Once again, the NFL Power Rankings heading into Week 5 give football fans with plenty to discuss, whether it involves the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shocking the Los Angeles Rams or the Green Bay Packers coming up short against the Philadelphia Eagles.

But when it comes to the biggest story of the week, it’s difficult to top just how close both the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs came to suffering their first loss of the 2019 season.

Heading into Sunday, the Patriots realized the Buffalo Bills team they were facing was far from the group on display a year ago since Sean McDermott‘s team was making a strong case to be considered a top contender in the AFC.

While Buffalo’s defense has been on the rise in recent years, the team seeming to finally have found a quarterback in Josh Allen to build the franchise around seemed to be a huge difference maker.

Coming up short the way they after falling to the Patriots 16-10 will certainly be on the minds of the Bills for the next couple of days, but at least Buffalo managed to put up a good fight to show the defending champions they’re not going to make the AFC East race easy.

As for the Chiefs, it’s amazing to think about the fact that Patrick Mahomes went the entire day without throwing a single touchdown pass against the Detroit Lions, and yet Kansas City still found a way to improve to 4-0 with the 34-30 win.

The Lions certainly deserve a ton of credit for almost pulling away with the win on numerous occasions, but also this shows why the Chiefs are such a special team.
