First off, the one key takeaway for the Kansas City Chiefs from their close 34-30 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday to stay undefeated is this team is beatable, and every week is going to be far from a guarantee.

When looking at how explosive the offense of the Chiefs has been so far in 2019, most football fans expected to see Patrick Mahomes come through with another monster game to keep the team undefeated.

Believe it or not, this was one of the rare games in which Mahomes failed to record a single touchdown pass, but the most important factor is Kansas City finished on the winning end against Detroit.

While there were numerous times in which the Lions seemed like they were going to pull away with the win, this continues to show just how special of a football team Andy Reid has with Mahomes under center.

Kansas City may not be up there yet with the New England Patriots as far as being the team to beat within the AFC is concerned, but they certainly aren’t too far behind. Maybe once the defense figures out a way to perform better, the Chiefs will be in better position to give the Patriots a run for their money.
