Stud: Chris Godwin

After having a quiet game last week against the New York Giants, wide receiver Chris Godwin came back in full force against the Rams. Re-emerging as Jameis Winston’s go to receiver, Godwin amassed 172 yards and two touchdowns in the evisceration of the Los Angeles defense.

Any concerns that fans had for the hip injury that Godwin sustained last week ceased after a dominant performance. Having just played the best game of his career, look for Godwin to try to top it in Week 5 as the Bucs look for a big divisional win against the New Orleans Saints.

Stud: Shaquil Barrett

Just when you began to wonder how Shaquil Barrett can play better than he did in his previous game, he did exactly that.

Having amassed four sacks against the Giants, Barrett not only continued his sack streak but did so in spectacular fashion. Trailing by eight points, the Rams had the ball on a first-and-10 at the Buccaneers 36-yard line. Goff dropped back and looked to throw but Barrett appeared out of nowhere to sack the Rams signal-caller, forcing a fumble that was recovered by former Los Angeles Ram Ndamukong Suh and returned for a touchdown.

In addition to helping Suh seal the Buccaneers’ victory, Barrett also earned his first career interception, picking off Goff after tipping one of his passes in the third quarter. Interestingly enough, it was also Barrett who deflected the very ball that would be intercepted by Jordan Whitehead.

Having gone from linebacker fighting for a spot on the Buccaneers’ roster to early candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year, Barrett’s ascension has been one of the league’s most fascinating storylines. As he gets better with every game, we can’t wait to see what he does next.
