Through four weeks of the 2019 NFL season, six teams have had a rough start with no wins to this point. When will each of those teams pick up their first win?

When looking at the best teams in the NFL in relation to the worst, the gap is normally not that sizeable. However, that’s not been the case through four weeks in the 2019 NFL season. The Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Washington Redskins have all been awful in winless starts to the year.

There are obvious reasons for why each of these six teams is winless through four weeks. Some teams appear to be outright tanking intentionally, others are bottoming out unintentionally and then some have simply been dealing with a multitude of bad luck to start the 2019 NFL season.

It’s a rarity that a team goes 0-16 in the modern NFL, though. Thus, we have to believe that each of the six winless teams through four weeks will eventually win a game. Let’s go about figuring out when that will be, predicting the first win for these six teams in 2019.

Arizona Cardinals

Last year, the Arizona Cardinals were one of the worst teams in the NFL with an awful roster. Though the roster talent has improved, the team has ultimately not thus far in 2019. Allowing 28.8 points per game defensively and scoring just 18 points per contest, the Red Birds rank in the bottom third of the league in both categories.

The Cardinals added Justin Pugh and J.R Sweezy this offseason to help improve an awful offensive line. However, neither has helped steady that position group as they’ve continued to be an issue in Arizona.

Make no mistake, though, the Cardinals have building blocks to get excited about moving forward. Kyler Murray is an upgrade over Josh Rosen and they also have other nice young pieces like Zach Allen, Hakeem Butler, Byron Murphy and Andy Isabella.

In Week 7 as the Cardinals go on the road to face the New York Giants, though, they may have a good shot of winning. While rookie Daniel Jones had an otherworldly debut, he’s bound to come back to Earth eventually. He can be inconsistent with his accuracy and has a bit of volatility in his game that will surely come out as he plays more games.

Meanwhile, Big Blue’s complete lack of a pass rush will help the Cardinals mask their deficiencies on the offensive line. Markus Golden and co. won’t be able to take advantage, which should result in Murray being able to guide his team to their first victory of the 2019 season.
