4. Houston Texans
Just when it seemed like the Houston Texans were working their way up to being one of the top teams to beat in the AFC, Bill O’Brien‘s squad came up short at home against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.
On a positive note, as frustrating as it was for the Texans to drop to 2-2 on the season, every other team in the AFC South has the same exact record heading into Week 5, meaning the race for the division race is still wide open at this point.
But before jumping too far ahead, the main focus for Houston at the moment is making sure they don’t suffer a second loss in a row with the Atlanta Falcons coming to town this weekend.
Back in Week 2, the Falcons were flying high following a key win over the Philadelphia Eagles to make it seem like they were finally ready to be a top contender in the NFC once again.
Instead, Atlanta has lost two tough games in a row, and put Dan Quinn on the hot seat heading into October.
Since the Falcons are technically in desperation mode, the Texans could be looking at a second loss in a row to drop their record to 2-3, and putting even more pressure on O’Brien heading into Week 6.
