2. C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida

There’s no doubt that C.J. Henderson can cover. He’s a 6-1, 182-pound off-ball corner with great speed and length. There’s potential there for a press-man corner or a player who can play in the zone. Unfortunately, the problem with Henderson is his physicality.

The biggest knock on the Florida corner is his willingness to tackle. Is it that he doesn’t want to or does he just flat out stinks at it? So far, this season, he’s looked dreadful and the game against the Miami Hurricanes was evidence that he’s not very good in that department right now. He hasn’t done much to stick his nose in the mix in run support. Thus, despite his elite coverage ability, Henderson’s stock is in question.

Auburn, who Florida faces in Week 6, has a quick hit offense; they run quick and bubble screens often. Henderson will have plenty of opportunities to show whether teams can count on him in the run game as well. Expect Auburn to take shots at Henderson’s physicality and try to expose his weaknesses.

If he faces the challenge head-on, Auburn will regret ever trying him. Teams will take notice and he’d solidify his place as a first-round prospect. Should he fail and continue to put out bad tape, though, his stock could fall. Yes, he’d still have a chance to become a Day 2 pick but he’s too talented to allow lack of effort to impact his future.
