3. Robert Quinn racks up another sack

The Cowboys leader in sacks after the first quarter of play is the same player who missed the first two games of the season due to an NFL suspension. Not only was Robert Quinn sidelined for the first two games, but he missed a large portion of camp with a broken hand as well.

Neither of those hang-ups slowed the veteran defensive end down at all as he came out firing in Week 3 when he made his debut. Playing against his old team, the Miami Dolphins, Quinn spent the whole game hanging out in the offensive backfield. He finished with three tackles and a sack while coming close to notching several more.

He continued to generate pressure on Sunday Night Football against New Orleans and was able to rack up two more sacks. That gives him three on the season, putting him on pace to eclipse the 6.5 he had in his final season with Miami.

What’s been most impressive is his speed off the snap. Quinn’s timing is impressive and he’s able to blow past his blocker with ease. That should lead to him recording at least one more sack in his third game with the Cowboys as he continues to make them look brilliant for making this trade in the offseason.
