Coming off of their first loss in the 2019 season, the Green Bay Packers aim for a big game against a hungry Cowboys team. Bold predictions for Week 5.

The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys almost have the entire late-afternoon slate in Week 5 to themselves. In truth, that’s the way it likely should be given the caliber and prestige of these two teams. Even better, though, this is a game where both teams should be hungry as they come off of their first losses of the 2019 season.

Aaron Rodgers and the passing game were awoken last week against the Eagles but their run defense, their biggest weakness thus far, was gashed. That allowed Philly to hang in there and ultimately topple Green Bay on Thursday night. Making matters worse, the Packers lost Davante Adams late due to a toe injury, an ailment that will keep him out against Dallas in Week 5.

However, the Green Bay Packers defense overall has been much improved this year and that will be put to the test against this Cowboys team that, outside of the loss to New Orleans, has been highly impressive this year. Thus, we have the makings of a fun matchup.

From the Packers side of things, let’s see what they’re capable of in Week 5 by making five bold predictions for Green Bay on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.

5. Rodgers’ production falls back down

Aaron Rodgers had played well through the first three weeks of the 2019 season but had not had a star-quarterback type game coming into last week. That changed against the Eagles secondary, though, as Rodgers tore them apart with 422 yards passing on the day.

However, Rodgers’ most consistent force in that game was Davante Adams, who will not be playing on Sunday against the Cowboys. Furthermore, the Dallas secondary is not the dumpster fire that is present in Philadelphia right now. That spells some trouble for Rodgers and the Packers offense in this game.

To be clear, Rodgers will have a fine game. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and Dallas isn’t going to completely negate him. Having said that, he won’t come close to 400 yards and won’t even get to 300 in Week 5, likely settling around the 250-yard plateau without his top pass-catcher available.
