With the Minnesota Vikings taking down the New York Giants in Week 5, here are three studs and three duds from the game for Minnesota.
After a week filled with plenty of off-the-field noise, the Minnesota Vikings got back to action against the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon in Week 5. Entering the game looking for their first road win of the year, the Vikings put together a solid showing to take down the Giants, 28-10, at MetLife Stadium in New York.
Minnesota’s offense looked impressive for a majority of the game, especially in the first two quarters of play in the Big Apple. The Vikings, who held a 3-0 advantage after the first quarter on Sunday, recorded 15 points prior to halftime to jump out to an 18-7 lead going into the break against the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
In the second half, the Vikings were able to tack on 10 more points while holding the Giants out of the end zone with just three points to cruise to a victory away from Minnesota.
With the win, Minnesota managed to grab its first win on the road this year and moved to 3-2 overall to bump it above the .500 mark going into Week 6 of action next weekend. The Vikings will return back home to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis next weekend when they host a tough NFC opponent in the Philadelphia Eagles at noon on Sunday.
With the loss, New York saw its winning streak come to an end at two in a row after falling to Minnesota. The Giants dropped to 2-3 with the defeat, while now facing another talented opponent in the defending champion New England Patriots on Thursday night in Week 6 on the road at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
