With the New England Patriots taking down the Washington Redskins in Week 5 on Sunday, here are some studs and duds from the win for the Patriots.

Another week of the 2019 NFL regular season, another win for the New England Patriots.

The defending Super Bowl Champions continued their impressive start to the 2019 campaign during the fifth week of the year on Sunday afternoon in the nation’s capital, cruising past the Washington Redskins 33-7 on the road at FedExField in Washington D.C.

While remaining undefeated to kick off the season through five weeks, New England jumped out to an early lead against Washington on Sunday and never looked back for the remainder of the contest.

The Patriots got out to a 12-7 advantage going into halftime in Washington D.C., before going off fo 14 points in the third quarter while adding seven more points in the fourth quarter to come away with a 26-point victory. New England, which did allow Washington to score one touchdown in the game, allowed just its second touchdown to an opponent this season in the game.

With the win, the Patriots improved to a perfect 5-0 on the year to remain atop the AFC East standings going into Week 6 next weekend.

New England will return back home to Gillette Stadium on Thursday when it plays host to the New York Giants in the sixth week of the year. The Giants will be coming off of a loss after losing to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 in New York.

With the loss, the Redskins struggles to start the season will extend into Week 6 while they still search for their first win of the season, dropping to a winless record of 0-5 overall. Washington could get its first win of the year next Sunday, however, when it travels to face the Miami Dolphins at noon on Sunday in Miami.

We knew this New England team was going to be good in 2019, but its start to the season has reassured everyone why it should be considered heavy Super Bowl favorites once again.

With the Patriots improving to an undefeated 5-0 on the season following their win on Sunday afternoon on the road, let’s take a look back at some studs and duds from the victory for the defending Super Bowl champions.
