13. Dallas Cowboys (5)

After a 3-0 start to the season, the Dallas Cowboys are in a complete free fall. There were plenty of detractors who were crying foul two weeks ago when Dallas was undefeated, saying they hadn’t been tested yet with those wins coming over the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, and Miami Dolphins.

So far, it looks as though there was some truth to that doubt. Dallas has since lost to the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers. Their most recent loss was especially concerning as they were a complete mess all over the field.

After moving the ball with ease on their first drive, they turned it over as Amari Cooper let a ball bounce off his hands and land in the waiting arms of a Green Bay defender. It was the first of three picks by Dak Prescott, and the interceptions were far from their only gaffes.

Dallas added many other mental errors which included multiple dropped passes, several bad penalties, missed tackles by one of their best linebackers (Leighton Vander Esch), and two missed field goals as well.

They do deserve some credit as they fought back from 31-3 to make it a contest, however, they continued to mess up even in that comeback. One example was the terrible pick thrown by Prescott with the score 31-17. They had all the momentum at this point but then gave it back to the Packers.

Then with it 34-24, Brett Maher made a 28-yard kick but it didn’t count as there was a false start. He then whiffed on the 33-yarder to end any shot at a miracle comeback. It was an ugly game for a team that needs to figure out how to stop the bleeding.
