9. Philadelphia Eagles (12)

Throughout the first four weeks of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles have been involved in some close games. They beat the Washington Redskins 32-27 in Week 1 before losing to the Atlanta Falcons 24-20 in Week 2 and 27-24 to the Detroit Lions in Week 3.

They were then in danger of falling to 1-3 but found a way to pull off the win in Week 4 on Thursday Night Football. A fourth-quarter touchdown gave them the 34-27 win over the Green Bay Packers, which set them up nicely for their Week 5 home game with the winless New York Jets.

It was easy to look at this one and say the Eagles would move to 3-2 on the year as long as they didn’t beat themselves. That’s exactly what happened as they made it look easy against Gang Green who once again had to take to the field without starting quarterback Sam Darnold.

Luke Falk, who entered the season as the third-string quarterback, once again got the start and he struggled mightily against the Philly defense. He had multiple turnovers, one of which was an interception returned for a touchdown by Nathan Gerry.

Philly is now right in the mix in the NFC East, in what’s starting to look like a two-team race between the Eagles and Cowboys.
