31. New York Jets (31)

Leading up to their Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, it seemed as though the New York Jets were going to have second-year quarterback Sam Darnold back under center. The third overall pick in 2018 played just one game so far this season and has been sidelined ever since with mono. There was no timetable for his return but hopes started to grow as he was practicing this week.

However, when Sunday rolled around it was announced that Luke Falk would once again get the start. A former sixth-round pick, Falk is also in his second season but does at least have a good understanding of the offense after spending 2018 with Adam Gase in Miami. That didn’t help him at all in this one though as the Jets were never in the game.

Philadelphia took a quick lead early and New York spent the entire game just trying to get back into the contest after heading to the half at 21-0. Now at 0-4, they have to have some optimism that things will get better as Darnold surely will be back soon.

The bad news is, there’s a lot more wrong for Gang Green than just the play under center. Running back Le’Veon Bell hasn’t been able to carry the load and the defense is a mess. This is going to continue to be a long season even when Darnold gets back.
