6. A.J. Brown, WR, Tennessee

Upon first glance, A.J. Brown’s stat line from this past week against the Bills looks a bit weak. Catching both of only two targets for 27 yards and, well, that was it. Really? Right after his three-for-three for 94 yards and two-touchdown coming out party in Week 4 against the Falcons?

Sure, it seems weak at first glance, but what it doesn’t show is that Brown actually managed to reel in a touchdown pass that was negated due to it being an illegal forward pass. So he very nearly had yet another great day.

While his targets do need to increase if he’s ever going to be a consistent contributor, he’s involved enough in the offense and has enough raw talent, just so long as he keeps putting in the work and continues building rapport with quarterback Marcus Mariota.

5. Adrian Peterson, RB, Washington

Per Josina Anderson on Twitter, Redskins interim head coach Bill Callahan believes the Redskins erred heavily in not giving Adrian Peterson the ball enough thus far in the season. Although already probably qualifying for AARP-status (if you’re calculating in running back years), Peterson still has those beastly tree-trunk legs he uses to fight and ram his way forward through traffic, just like he’s been doing since the olden days.

With the added benefit of a marked increase in his carry output, this unsurprisingly puts the Oklahoma product in the “trending up” category through Week 6 and beyond. The cherry on top of it all is the upcoming matchup against a Dolphins defense that even a fast-aging Peterson should have no problem running over, around and through… All Day.
