Pittsburgh Steelers (1-4) at Los Angeles Chargers (2-3)

Sunday, October 13, 8:20PM ET

All season long, picking the Chargers to win has bitten me in the derriere. For all I know, it’ll do so again in Week 6. And yet, I just can’t bring myself to pick a 1-4 team led by an undrafted, third-string quarterback to come away victorious.

Yes, the Chargers have underwhelmed this season. Philip Rivers has looked good at times, and then makes costly mistakes that often end up being the difference. Or maybe the Los Angeles defense bends a little too much, breaking at the most inopportune of times. One way or another, there’s a reason why the Chargers currently sit at 2-3.

Still, going up against Devlin Hodges gives Los Angeles an ideal opportunity to put another notch in the win column. The Chargers already boast one of the better secondaries in the league, and shouldn’t have too much trouble rattling the young gunslinger.

All it will take is a strong defensive effort and mistake-free football from Rivers. Team that will a couple of big plays from Austin Ekeler and/or Melvin Gordon, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for success for the Chargers. Put simply, this is their game to lose in Week 6.

Prediction: Chargers win 24-13
