NFL Week 6, 2019: 5 Coaches on the hot seat
By Dan Parzych
3. Mike Vrabel
From four missed field goals by Cairo Santos to questionable play calls, Week 5 was a game to forget for the Tennessee Titans after coming up short against the Buffalo Bills to drop their record to 2-3.
The season is young, but the Titans have already been one of the most difficult teams to figure out when taking into consideration they look like a strong contender one week, only to show up the next appearing to be a contender.
Take a look at last weekend for example when Tennessee only put up seven points at home against Buffalo, despite pulling off an impressive 24-10 win on the road over the Atlanta Falcons the week before.
Mike Vrabel was already feeling pressure at the beginning of last season when he was hired as the new head coach for the Titans since Tennessee was already a playoff-caliber team, but it’s becoming more difficult to defend him after losses like Week 5.
Talent wise, the Titans are capable of being a top contender in the AFC, and if they end up missing out on the playoffs for a second year in a row, it’s tough to imagine that Vrabel will be able to hang on to his job.
