Uniform of the Week: Seattle Seahawks

There were plenty of fantastic uniform matchups this weekend. Unfortunately for them, the Seahawks’ neon green threads caught my eye in a great way. Some might say the uniforms are too much, but Seattle’s sleek navy helmet and navy accents help tone down the neon to the perfect, electric amount.

Hands of the Week: James O’Shaughnessy

I got to be honest, there were not many great catches this week. I originally didn’t want to give James O’Shaughnessy the award because of his failure to reel in the pass initially. After further review, I can conclude that his body control and concentration is enough to deem him worthy. Also, he went semi-David-Tyree by pinning the ball on his helmet.

Baker Mayfield Award: Nick Bosa

Not a bad impersonation by Bosa, an Ohio State alum, of Mayfield, an Oklahoma alum, from when the two high draft picks faced off in 2017. Bosa had a career night in San Fransisco’s 31-3 butt-kicking of Cleveland, so I’m pretty sure Bosa earned this celebration.

Despicable Moment of the Week: Heinz Field

This is beyond unbelievable, and not in a good way. Rudolph was sandwiched and needed to be carted off. The fact that there was no other working cart to carry him is bad enough, but making him walk off the field? That is inhumane. Shame on anyone who influenced this in any way. It’s a terrible look for the NFL, too.

Award of Insanity: Cairo Santos

Insanity, noun: Doing the same thing over and over again to no avail. Need an example? Watch Santos miss all four his field goals in a wet 14-7 loss to Buffalo. Maybe the insane one is actually head coach Mike Vrabel for jogging out the kicking team after Santos had already missed two kicks.

No, Vrabel is the insane one because he signed Cody Parkey, who had a 2018 field goal percentage of 76.7 percent, instead of other capable guys like Greg Joseph, who nailed a much better 85 percent.

Articles of the Week

It’s no secret the Redskins are not the greatest organization to work for because of multiple reasons, one of which Russell S. Baxter explains here.

The 49ers are suddenly a fun team to watch. Cody Williams outlines five reasons why San Fransisco can go all the way.
