Byes start to wreak havoc in Fantasy Football week 6, so which two quarterbacks can you trust? We are playing in 2-QB leagues and every starter is a serious consideration.

Was Week 5 the positive turning point we needed in two-quarterback leagues? Average to below-average options like Teddy Bridgewater, Kyler Murray, Gardner Minshew, and Kirk Cousins all put up their best performances of the season. Andy Dalton rebounded nicely; Chase Daniel seemed usable. And Sam Darnold is set to return to game action this week.

If this was a turning point, it is just in time for four-team bye weeks. This week, we will be without Josh Allen, Daniel/Mitchell Trubisky, QB tier favorite Jacoby Brissett, and Derek Carr. Who’s the best play in Fantasy Football Week 6? Don’t ignore your instincts, because everyone must fill that final fantasy football roster spot.

Two brothers from New York, Dan Salem and Todd Salem, debate Fantasy Football Week 6 in today’s NFL Sports Debate.

Fantasy Football Week 6 – The Top 12

Patrick Mahomes (Dan’s Ranking: 2, Todd’s Ranking: 1), Russell Wilson (Dan: 1, Todd: 3), Deshaun Watson (Dan: 3, Todd: 2), Tom Brady (Dan: 4, Todd: 4), Lamar Jackson (Dan: 5, Todd: 6), Matt Ryan (Dan: 7, Todd: 5), Aaron Rodgers (Dan: 6, Todd: 9), Dak Prescott (Dan: 9, Todd: 7), Philip Rivers (TIE – Dan: 8, Todd: 10), Carson Wentz (TIE – Dan: 10, Todd: 8), Kyler Murray (Dan: 11, Todd: 12), Jared Goff (Dan: 13, Todd: 11)

Dan Salem on Goff at 13: A tough defensive matchup against a divisional foe drops Goff out of my Top 12 for this week. He needs to rise above this challenge.

13. Matthew Stafford (Dan: 12, Todd: 13)

Dan Salem: I have Stafford in the top 12 this week because he’s had two weeks to prepare and was already playing great football.
Todd Salem: Though Green Bay is a tough defense, Stafford has been incredibly reliable thus far this season. An early bye week kind of dropped him under the radar.

14. Andy Dalton (Dan: 14, Todd: 15)

Dan Salem: Dalton keeps putting up the numbers, even if his team stinks. Baltimore is a sneaky average defense right now.
Todd Salem: Was the Pittsburgh performance a blip or a sign of things to come? Was last week a bounce-back or a random showing against a terrible defense? Baltimore isn’t an easy opponent, but I’m gambling that the Pittsburgh outing was the fluke.

15. TIE – Jameis Winston (Dan: 15, Todd: 16)

Dan Salem: We must acknowledge that Winston is having a good season. I’m not sure what Carolina will bring this week, but I’m betting on the Buccaneers offense to keep delivering.
Todd Salem: A tough defensive matchup keeps Winston out of the top 15, but he’s had multiple touchdowns in three straight games and no more than one turnover in four straight.

15. TIE – Gardner Minshew (Dan: 17, Todd: 14)

Dan Salem: He’s hobbled and gets a tough defensive test playing New Orleans this week. That being said, the consistency is there. Minshew will do pretty well.
Todd Salem: The epitome of consistency, Minshew has played five games in his NFL career. His fantasy totals from those games are 19, 16, 18, 17, and 21 points. I don’t foresee any possible outcome other than him scoring 20 fantasy points this week. I would also accept 15 or 22 points, but that’d be stretching it.

17. Jimmy Garoppolo (Dan: 16, Todd: 18)

Dan Salem: Los Angeles has not been stopping anyone and San Francisco is on a role. Garoppolo is slowly rising closer and closer to top 12 status.
Todd Salem: Jimmy G is turning into a reverse quarterback of the times. Most of the time, we can find guys who put up good numbers but can’t succeed in real life. Garoppolo seems like the opposite. His Niners keep winning, even as he underwhelms.

18. Marcus Mariota (Dan: 18, Todd: 17)

Dan Salem: I don’t love Mariota, but I love the matchup. If Denver shows up like it did against the Chargers, then oh no. But otherwise, Mariota will have a solid game.
Todd Salem: The rushing numbers have been disappointing, and the touchdowns have been clustered. Nevertheless, Mariota has been effective besides an expected struggle against the elite Buffalo Bills.

19. Sam Darnold (Dan: 20, Todd: 19)

Dan Salem: This is a risky play since the Jets offense has been SO bad. Dallas isn’t great, but they are okay. Darnold would be a great play if this wasn’t his first week back after a month hiatus. We shall see.
Todd Salem: This is not a good spot for Darnold’s return. The Jets are terrible, and the Dallas defense is pretty good. That said, New York is a different team with Darnold behind center, and I’m banking on that over the rest of these options this week.

20. Teddy Bridgewater (Dan: 19, Todd: 22)

Dan Salem: The Saints keep improving with Bridgewater and I don’t trust Jacksonville to stop them.
Todd Salem: Tampa Bay makes a lot of opposing quarterbacks look good. I don’t expect a repeat performance here, though Bridgewater is still usable against Jacksonville.

21. Kirk Cousins (Dan: 22, Todd: 20)

Dan Salem: The Eagles are better than the Giants on defense, but we’ll find out just how much better. Cousins is serviceable.
Todd Salem: Don’t be fooled by the performance against the New York Giants. Cousins is still just a borderline SuperFLEX play.

22. TIE – Kyle Allen (Dan: 21, Todd: 23)

Dan Salem: We can’t deny that he has been serviceable, and the Buccaneers are giving up lots of offense to their opponents. Allen should be the beneficiary this week.
Todd Salem: Speaking of Tampa Bay, Allen gets the benefit of the Buccaneers this week. If it ends up anything like his game against Arizona, fantasy owners will be delighted.

22. TIE – Baker Mayfield (Dan: 23, Todd: 21)

Dan Salem: I would expect a rebound game from Mayfield, yet his team plays the Seahawks and their excellent defense. I don’t trust Cleveland in this matchup.
Todd Salem: Oof, that Week 5. Mayfield actually put up zero fantasy points (depending on league settings). That is so hard to do as a quarterback, it’s actually impressive. He’s been a turnover machine and is no longer a guaranteed start even in two-QB leagues.

24. TIE – Josh Rosen (Dan: 24, Todd: N/A)

Dan Salem: Matchups are everything, and the Redskins stink. I like Rosen’s potential this week only.

24. TIE – Daniel Jones (Dan: N/A, Todd: 24)

Todd Salem: I wouldn’t blame you for staying away this week. Picking either Josh Rosen or Colt McCoy in the battle to the bottom could pay off…maybe. Jones has been ordinary in recent weeks and now faces the toughest defense in the league on a short week. With multiple weapons sidelined as well, Jones could be in for a long night. That said, 225 yards passing and a couple long scrambles on the ground get him to 11 or 12 points, which is a baseline we are looking for.
