Defense/Special Teams

The highest price defense of the week is the Dallas Cowboys at $4,300, who face the New York Jets. Since the Cowboys defense typically doesn’t post big numbers so this price may be too rich, given quarterback Sam Darnold‘s expected return.

Los Angeles Chargers (vs. PIT, $3,300): The Chargers have notched two or more sacks or interceptions in every game this season. An inconsistent Steelers offense should allow this trend to continue, regardless of the status of interim starting quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Tennessee Titans (at DEN, $2,900): The Titans have allowed no more than 20 points in any game this season, recording three or more sacks in four out of five. Joe Flacco is one of the most immobile quarterbacks in the league and the Broncos offense has been far from electric. Expect a high floor at a reasonable price.

New York Jets (vs. DAL, $1,500): There is some risk here for sure, but just as the Steelers were a great value at $2,100 last week, the Jets offer similar value at an extremely low price. The Jets have allowed fewer than 24 points in all but one game this season and have recorded at least one sack and one interception in three of four contests. The Cowboys’ offense has proven its mettle against lesser opponents, but they’ve struggled of late.

Much of the passing game production in last week’s matchup against the Packers came courtesy of game script in the latter part of the game. The Jets will move the ball much more effectively with Darnold under center, so anyone expecting the Cowboys to tee off on the Jets like the Eagles did last week will be disappointed.
